NYT: Seton Hall’s Bobby Gonzalez Is a Divisive Figure in the Big East
In regards to Gonzo's contract extension:
"Seton Hall made a bad decision," Jhony Garcia said after Gonzalez attributed a recent Senior Night loss partly to the two minutes his son, John Garcia, played.
Regarding former Jasper Kenny Milnor:
He and others said that Gonzalez consistently broke the N.C.A.A.’s rules on practice hours. Byrnes confirmed that players "on more than one occasion" anonymously complained about Gonzalez going over practice limits.
Must-read article, check it out by following the link above.
Update 03/08 In the comments section, I've posted two more pieces from the NYT. One in regards to his time at Manhattan College, along with a Q&A with Manhattan's AD, Bob Brynes. Check them out.

Important
I think the most important part of this article to note was that the new contract offered no more in guaranteed money than the previous one. While I certainly hope we succeed and make the dance this year and next, I am still a little weary of Gonzo myself, and I am happy to see that we left ourselves this little “out” in the contract.
On his time at Manhattan College:
Gonzo Ball
[gahn-zo-bawl]
-noun 1. a game played by 13 members of a basketball team, five at a time, sometimes crisp, often sloppy, but always furiously.

I read all of ’em. They were interesting. They were not surprising.
The guy from ESPN summed it up perfectly: it was “a long, well-reported story about how pretty much no one likes (him)”. I don’t think he cares though.
I think Gonzo's sister's response was just as interesting, if not more interesting, than the original articles:
She refers to Lenn Robbins as, “a dirty rat” and, “jagoff” who after speaking with she, “had to take a shower.” Her writing makes much of the rant, difficult to read, but it’s entertaining nonetheless. In February, she also devoted an entire post about how Bobby doesn’t read blogs or message boards. Hmmm.
